Director of Public Relations Overview
As Director of Public Relations at TruePoint Communications, you’ll be a key leader in our marketing communications practice area and responsible for leading client accounts, team member development, and new business. You have deep knowledge and experience implementing high impact b2b and b2c public relations and marketing communications programs.

What You’ll Do
Team Development & Internal Agency Focus:
- Build a high-performing, dynamic team that is engaged and aligned for success
- Ensure each member of the team is clear about their role and goals
- Continuously assess talent, providing timely and effective coaching and feedback
- Manage staffing to ensure the team has the right coverage and skill sets, and maintains utilization so everyone is fully optimized
- Take ownership and accountability for account team performance, ensuring excellence is present in all work delivered
- Partner with Operations to ensure success of agency’s systems, processes, tools, and overall standards
- Win new business and build-out strategic account plans, including team roles, financials, and goals
- Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts through additional agency offerings
- Represent agency and/or clients at key industry events
- Contribute to the agency training and development program and lead agency trainings
- Proactively mentor others with a focus on growth and development
Client Focus:
- Provide strategic counsel and recommendations to c-level clients; create high-level positioning and messaging for clients; deliver high-quality written and verbal content, and present persuasively
- Bring a big-picture view to developing programs that meet clients’ business and marketing goals, predicting and planning outcomes, and directing efforts for meaningful results
- Build strong client relationships. Serve as the daily client contact and lead, addressing issues thoughtfully, efficiently, and effectively
- Develop, execute, and provide oversight for strategic programs and initiatives across accounts that enhance client brands and advance their marketing and company goals
- Secure media opportunities for clients bringing a strong awareness and understanding of the media landscape
- Support clients during crisis situations with clear, concise strategies and recommendations
- Act as a central point of contact for account health, demonstrating an ability to handle difficult client and employee situations and up-level concerns
- Oversee client budget and monthly billing. Provide strategic counsel to clients for budget forecasting.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of public relations and/or corporate communications experience
- 4+ years of proven project management experience
- 4+ years of direct experience supervising people and team management experience
- 4+ years of experience managing clients, including planning, budgeting, and utilization
- Expertise with Marcom, social media, and paid media, preferred
- Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills
- Have deep industry knowledge and media relationships
- Understanding of complex products, services, and solutions
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related field
- Local to Dallas is highly preferred, but not required
